New Equipment & Construction Fund
All monies donated to this fund go to Summit Pacific Medical Center (Grays Harbor Public Hospital District No. 1) to purchase new equipment and fund construction and remodeling projects. For the next two years, all donations to this fund are earmarked to support a capital campaign endeavor to raise one million dollars in funding to enhance the new wellness center, opening 2019.
Greatest Need General Fund
Donors to the Greatest Need General Fund create hope, health and healing for our community and all those served by Summit Pacific Medical Center. The Greatest Need Fund is an “unrestricted fund” that enables the Summit Pacific Medical Foundation Board of Directors in coordination with hospital leadership to act quickly on a variety of needs. This fund offers a flexible source of support. Your gift goes directly where help is needed the most.
Patient Assistance Fund
Medication Assistance
Our Patient Assistance Fund helps to provide our patients with the medications and travel expenses they need, but aren’t always able to afford. This fund was implemented to help deliver better care and compassion to the patients of Grays Harbor Public Hospital District No. 1. The assistance is provided in two separate forms: by subsidized or free prescription assistance and also by transportation assistance in the form of gasoline cards.
Comfort for Kids Program
This program allows our Emergency Department and Urgent Care staff the means to provide stuffed animals and stickers to our youngest patients. More than 3,000 children come through our doors each year needing care for an injury or illness. Hospitals are a scary place for kids, and these gifts help kids calm down and leave as happy patients. Student Scholarship Fund
Since 1996, this fund has awarded 99 scholarships totaling more than $86,000 to area high school seniors pursuing a degree in the medical field. Employees started the scholarship fund, which is now open to the public to support. The scholarship fund demonstrates Summit’s commitment to our community’s future health and wellness. It is our hope that recipients will return to Elma and work at Summit Pacific when they receive their degrees.
Employee Assistance Fund
The Foundation’s newest fund aims to provide one-time grants to Summit employees facing exceptional personal hardship. While FMLA assists with necessary family leaves of absence, this fund specifically provides relief for staff .5 FTE or greater in good standing who have experienced a medical emergency or an accident or loss of home due to natural causes requiring the employee to take time away from work.
