Planned Giving

Let’s Plan Together for a Healthier Future

“Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree long ago.”

–        Warren Buffett

The vision at Summit Pacific Medical Center (SPMC) is to build the healthiest community in the Nation. You can be a major factor in achieving this vision by working with Summit Pacific Medical Foundation to understand our shared goals and making charitable gifts that save you taxes AND address your personal financial needs. Let us help you PLAN YOUR GIVING to support your family and the community served by Summit Pacific!

The most common “planned gifts” are bequests, or gifts through your will. A bequest is especially appropriate if you wish to retain full control of your property (or assets) during life, while still providing a wonderful gift and lasting legacy for continued support of Summit Pacific Medical Foundation and its programs. Summit Pacific Medical Foundation can be named as a beneficiary in your will in any number of ways. You may make a specific dollar bequest or choose to give a percentage of your estate.

The best Planned Giving approach is to save taxes while:

  1. Helping Summit Pacific support the annual needs of the community,
  2. Helping Summit Pacific grow with new capital projects,
  3. Helping build an endowment to allow Summit Pacific to continue to support our growing community, and
  4. Making a gift from assets left over in your estate.

We can help you apply Planned Giving to accomplish all four of these goals and establish a legacy for your family and the community.

Build a Legacy for a Healthier Future by Making a Gift from Assets Left Over in Your Estate

Let us help you “plan your gift” to make the greatest impact with your estate giving.

Specify Your Gifts

You can specify a particular area of meaning at Summit Pacific Medical Center to receive your support (i.e. urgent care, the emergency department, diagnostic imaging or support for families of patients.)

SPMF Legacy Society

We can enter you as a member of the SPMF Legacy Society. (You will receive “insider” updates and invitations to special events.)

Complete Flexibility

You can retain complete flexibility with your estate gift and retain the ability to change the area you wish to support or even revoke the entire gift with any of the following types of estate gifts:

  • A gift (bequest) through your will
  • A gift (designation) through your living trust (also called a family trust)
  • Life insurance (you can name SPMF as a beneficiary)
  • Retirement plan (you can name SPMF as a beneficiary) of an IRA, 401(k), 403(b), or Keough

Please contact us and we can help you leverage your estate intentions into saving taxes and/or receive income for life. Making Summit Pacific Medical Foundation the beneficiary of your home after your lifetime, investment real estate or stocks may provide you with immediate income tax savings AND/OR lifetime income.

Ask us about the benefits of:

  • Charitable gift annuities
  • Charitable remainder trusts
  • Deeding the remainder interest in your personal residence

Gain peace of mind by creating a will or living trust now. You can always amend it later. You can easily create your own will using a service like or contact an estate planning attorney. Contact us and we can give you a short list of local attorneys.
