(ELMA, WA) – Summit Pacific is asking for the community’s support at an upcoming Grays Harbor County Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, December 3 at 1 p.m.
In July 2019, Summit Pacific hosted a Community Presentation to hear from Vice President of Blue Zones, Nick Buettner, about the impacts of their work in other communities. Over 300 local leaders and community members attended the presentation.
Since July, the work has continued, a group of over 20 Grays Harbor business and government stakeholders met and unanimously agreed to proceed with moving forward with finding funding for step one of the Blue Zones Project, a Community Assessment. United Healthcare has agreed to fund half of the assessment.
December 3, 2019 at 1 p.m. as the Grays Harbor County Commissioners will be voting to approve or deny funding for the remaining balance of a Blue Zones Community Assessment. The hope is to garner support and have community members, business leaders and other interested parties attend this meeting, or send a letter of support to their County Commissioner prior to the meeting.
