Summit Pacific to Break Ground on Wellness Center Sept. 15

(ELMA, WA) –Summit Pacific Medical Center invites the community to attend a Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Wellness Center. The event is taking place Friday, Sept. 15, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the site of the new building (on Oakhurst Drive in Elma behind SPMC’s parking lot).

“Our intent is for this facility to become the health and wellness hub of our community. Somewhere individuals could go for both clinical visits such as check-ups and mammograms as well as nonclinical activities consisting of cooking classes, support groups and enjoying the playground with their children,” Josh Martin, CEO shared. “Therefore we hope the community will join us in celebration.”

The new three-story, 60,000-square-foot facility will allow services provided within the hospital to expand and accommodate patient volumes. The new building will be home to a 6,000 square-foot physical therapy gym, a primary care clinic that can house up to 18 primary care providers, additional diagnostic imaging opportunities such as 3D Mammography and Dexa services, a retail pharmacy, a restaurant, indoor and outdoor family activity spaces, many more opportunities for educational classes, chronic disease support groups and more.

SPMC was awarded $21.2 million through a USDA Rural Development Loan that will be used to help fund the new three story Wellness Center.

Parking for the event is available at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, (702 East Main Street in Elma) as well as at the Grays Harbor County Fairgrounds (with shuttle service to the event, 32 Elma McCleary Rd, Elma). Attendees should note that the event will be held on rough, undeveloped terrain.
