Scholarship Program

The foundation houses two scholarship funds for local high school students to apply for. The two scholarships are the “SPMC Employees’ Scholarship Program” and the “Dr. Mitch Cohen Memorial Scholarship.”

SPMC Employees’ Scholarship Program

The Employees of Summit Pacific Medical Center contribute annually to a scholarship fund to promote the education and integration of local students in the medical field.  A scholarship committee reviews applications, interviews, and selects recipients who best meet the criteria and show initiative to follow through with their chosen academic program.

Students interested in applying for this scholarship must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be entering a medically related field of study in an accredited program.
  2. A graduating senior attending a school district in East Grays Harbor County: Elma HS, Montesano HS, East Grays Harbor HS or Olympic Christian Academy of  McCleary .
  3. Must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher.

SPMC Employees’ Scholarship Program Application

 

Dr. Mitch Cohen Memorial Scholarship Fund

Each year Dr. Shawn Andrews leads a group of volunteer providers and support staff to provide low cost sports physicals. 100% of the fee collected for each physical goes into the Dr. Mitch Cohen Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Students interested in applying for this scholarship must meet the following criteria:

  1. Entering advanced secondary education in college, vocational or a technical school.
  2. A graduating senior attending high school East Grays Harbor County: Elma HS, Montesano HS, East Grays Harbor HS or Olympic Christian Academy of McCleary.
  3. Have a demonstrated financial need.
  4. Shown the ability to overcome life challenges, as well as the determination and willingness to succeed.
