April 3, 2026

Summit Pacific Medical Center announces the appointment of Shannon Brear as a Board Commissioner, bringing decades of healthcare administrative experience and a deep commitment to the organization and the community it serves.

Brear began her healthcare career in 1988 at Deaconess Medical Center, where she supported multiple departments, including Security, Information Systems, Finance, and Health Information Management. In 2011, she joined Mark Reed Hospital as an Executive Assistant, just weeks before the groundbreaking for the new Summit Pacific Medical Center. She played a key role during a transformative period that included the opening of the medical center in 2013, the development of the McCleary clinic in 2015, and the opening of the Wellness Center in 2019.

In 2016, Brear transitioned to the Summit Pacific Medical Foundation, where she supported leadership, board initiatives, fundraising efforts, and equipment purchases that directly benefited patients and the broader community. She also contributed to numerous community events, including the Peak Wellness Fair, 5K Run, Ladies’ Night Out, Summit Fights Hunger, and Harbor Lights.

“Shannon’s dedication and experience make her a great addition to the Board,” said Josh Martin, Summit Pacific CEO. “She brings a strong understanding of our organization, a passion for Summit Pacific’s mission, and valuable insight that will help guide our continued growth and service to the community.”

Brear holds educational experience in interpersonal communication from Spokane Community College, graduated with honors in Computer Information Management from Trend College, and pursued general studies with an emphasis on language skills at Concordia College in Portland, Oregon.

“I am honored to continue serving Summit Pacific in this new role,” said Brear. “This organization has always felt like family to me, and I look forward to supporting its mission and future growth for the benefit of our entire community.”
